What is a good modchip for the original XBOX?
I am looking to mod an original XBOX (v1.6). I want to be able to upgrade the hard drive, backup games/movies to the hard drive, install Linux, browse the internet, play copied discs, install emulators for NES, SNES, Sega, Playstation, etc., and install some kind of media center. What kind of mod chip should I get? Where is a good place to find a mod chip? Does anyone have an personal experience with XBOX mods?
the Xecuter series is your best bet. i have several friends that modded their xboxs and there were only problems when they played halo 2 on live (that's where the mod chip police are)
i believe the xecuter 3 CE is the newest and is available frome many fine merchants.
i also suggest soldering as the solderless adaptors are wont to slip off if no very tightly fastened
