Easiest way to SOFTMOD my original XBOX?

I have an original Xbox (not 360). I'm having trouble softmodding it. I downloaded some files, but the xbox won't read them when i burn them on a disk. As for Mech Assault... I can't get a decent copy anywhere. can anyone help? What do I need? Where do I go?

It is not all that hard to do. However you will have to have a memory card.
