Connecting Xbox 360 HD cables to TV?
My TV is an Emerson 27' (model # ewf2704). It has the green, blue and red inputs in the back like an HD television should. However when I connect the Xbox HD cables and hit the switch from standard to hd on the back of the xbox I only get sound and no picture. Now, I don't posses the remote so maybe there's a button like input or something i have to press on it. What do you guys think?

I read the manual for your television and I can't find any mention of video resolution so it most probably accepts only 480i.. be sure the Xbox is set to output at this resolution (if you haven't changed this setting it will be there by default).. The Xbox 360 component cable SD/HD switch needs to be set to SD.. you will also need the remote because there isn't an 'input select' button on your television.. you need to select the component input to display the video from the Xbox 360..

When you use the AUDIO/VIDEO input jacks
or COMPONENT VIDEO INPUT jacks, select
“VIDEO1” or “VIDEO2” or “COMPONENT”
mode by pressing the INPUT SELECT button
on the remote control.
• To use the VIDEO1 INPUT jacks on the rear
of the TV, select “VIDEO1”.
• To use the jacks on the front of the TV, select
“VIDEO2”.
• To use the COMPONENT VIDEO INPUT
jacks on the rear of the TV, select “COMPONENT”.
You should be able to buy a cheap universal remote which will work with your television and provide the 'input select' functionality you are missing..

I found two sites online where you can buy the actual remote for your TV.. it costs about $30.. (second and third links).. you can probably buy a universal remote for less than $15 which will work just as well.. You should ask at the Wal-Mart where you got the television which universal remotes will work with it..
